Commercial Agent sell goods for wholesalers’ businesses, government agencies, and other organizations. They contact customers, explain the features of the products they are selling, negotiate prices, and answer any questions that their customers may have about the products.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the sales team through providing expertise in trench safety systems
  • Demonstrate clear product/technology/regulatory expertise to confidently serve as the field-based expert in the assigned product portfolio
  • Work closely with the Sales team on pre-sale demo and evaluation support
  • Work with Service and Customer Implementation Team on post-sales coordination and implementation
  • Assist at the customer site to resolve applications related to technical customer escalation
  • Work with designers to create new product lines
  • Coordinate the activities of internal and external resources and stakeholders to drive customer satisfaction and timely project delivery
  • Collaborate closely with Sales Executives to advance the opportunity and ensure line of sight to any obstacles or systemic issues that would prevent becoming the technical vendor of choice
  • Provide support through peer level expertise with highly technical customers
  • Work with Key Account Manager in gaining product line technically specified as a vendor of choice designation to win the business to support core growth in key accounts
  • Support and participate in business reviews as needed
  • Act as Business Unit liaison for new and future product introductions
  • Conduct high-level technical customer presentations
  • Generate scientific sales and marketing collateral
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs and explain how specific products and services can meet these needs
  • Help customers select products to meet customers’ needs, product specifications, and regulations
  • Emphasize product features that will meet customers’ needs, and exhibit the capabilities and limitations of their products
  • Answer customers’ questions about the prices, availability, and uses of the products they are selling
  • Negotiate prices and terms of sales and service agreements
  • Prepare sales contracts and submit orders for processing
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as information on selling strategies and marketing information
  • Follow up with customers to make sure that they are satisfied with their purchases and to answer any questions or concerns they might have

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing is preferred
  • 5+ years of beverage or food manufacturing experience
  • Must be familiar with product specifications and certifications as well as manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Highly proficient in the use of SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Background in customer service or sales experience a plus
